About Bernd Merz
Bernd Merz is currently working at the Prevention Department of BG BAU (Berufsgenossenschaft der Bauwirtschaft) in Berlin. His tasks includes project planning and management in the field of Prevention Services, e. g.
Incentive schemes, consulting, investigation, Research, development and pilot schemes, Information and communication, Rules and Regulations, Training, Inspection including consulting in response to specific problems. Furthermore, he is Board member of european and international organisations. From 2006 until 2012 Bernd Merz was working for DG Enterprise (DG GROW) of the European Commission in Brussels.
Bernd Merz studied for a Diplom-Ingenieur (Univ.) in civil engineering. He also obtained degrees in business and laws, as well as the certificate as Aufsichtsperson (technical inspector).
His main research interests are economic aspects of occupational safety and digitalization of the construction sector. He has 15 years of experience in the field of international cooperation concerning health and safety at work, osh training of managers, workers and students. He is involved in various national, european and international projects dealing with digitalisation and qualification.
